Best Budget Cameras for Videos and Pictures under $500?
Anything comparable to the Canon 70D (Priced at $1100) would be phenomenal. If there's other cameras above this price range that you think are worth taking a look at, let me know.
Using to film my Journey across the US in a month s time. Will need for quality YouTube videos and Facebook updates, with great photos to use of great views.
Added (1). Thank you for your answers. I will save up my money and buy a high end used/refurbished camera. Panasonic GH4 looks amazing, definitely worth it I believe.
Actually, all dSLRs are basically the same. Same controls. Only features change. Cheaper ones tend to have point-and-shoot camera features while more expensive ones tend to have features that are useful for more serious shots. If you know photography, a more expensive camera will actually allow you to shoot more easily but then again, if you know photography, you will get by with a cheap dSLR. Cheap of expensive, you'll get the same shot. It's just a matter of how.
Pentax K-50.
Like the 70D but cheaper? Canon T5. Spend a little more, get a few more bells and whistles with the T5i. Perfectly good still shots, video is OK but not spectacular.
For $500, you aren't going to find something amazing at both.
