First thing is the business license you'll need just to open the door. Then you'll need to convince Canon or Nikon that you're for real, that you can be trusted. Also there's the matter of hiring people you can trust to handle all those orders you have yet to receive. No, Canon, Nikon and the majors don't drop ship if that's what you're thinking.

Third you'll need to stock equipment so you can get it out to your customers quickly. That means buying a boat load of all different models of gear to store in your yet to be leased warehouse so when an order does come in you'll have the gear on hand to ship out.

Next is getting up against sellers like Amazon who have billions of dollars in their cash vault and can ship anywhere on the planet quickly - any brand, any model and they're known world wide as an honest, upstanding company who always delivers what a customer orders.

Then there's the biggest obstacle of all - financing. You as an individual… If you can convince some investors to take a chance on you… Perhaps if you raise say a million to start with you can get it going. Of course, if you do barrow that money and things don't work out you'll be in debt for the rest of your natural life.

I've listed some of the negatives to having a business… I know, I had a video production company for a time and it was a major struggle. I didn't barrow very much but it was still a struggle.

Still interested? Well start making venture capital calls tomorrow and see how many investors might be interested… That's the first step.
