I have purchased a brand new Sony DSLR camera (SLT-alpha-58 ) and i'm quit hapy with the picture delivery in the different mode as compare to the other like nikonm canon etc…

I was a bit confused between to many option but yes some features here and there it is a worth of your investment in the entry level DSLR… For more you can see the below link…

Sony are quite good, I understand. But most professionals use either Canon or Nikon

While they may drop the A mount eventually, the E mount will continue.

Sony makes very good cameras, and there are plenty of lenses available. Nobody owns every lens made for any mount, there's no need. You can get low end stuff, good mid-range lenses, and you can spend all the money want on high end stuff.

Pick a price point and compare Sony Nikon Canon Pentax (and Oly if you care) and you will find that the Sony models have better bang for your buck.

Sony innovates, Canon and Nikon just keep making the same thing over and over.

Sony just came out with a77 Mark II (2 weeks ago), which uses an A mount. That usually means they will be supporting A mount for a while. What happens after five years is something Sony themselves don't know. I'm not sure how any outsider claims to have such foresight.
The a77 Mark II is also not a trivial improvement over the a77. For a quick look: http://www.traitmix.com/News.html#a77
Sony may be a bit quick to check 'have that feature' boxes compared to say, Fuji. But their newer features work, and are often a definite improvement, in my opinion.

Sony's SLTs are perfectly fine, with superior video performance to true DSLRs - they're the big boys in EVIL models, but they've invested too much in their cropped-sensor and full-frame models to pull out any time soon. If you need a particular lens - and can afford it - you're as likely to find it for Sony (or Pentax) as you are for Canon or Nikon.

I prefer Pentax, but you can't really go wrong with any of the four.

They are as reliable as other popular brands but would seem to have shorter production runs so, possibly may run out of parts.
It is difficult to predict how much longer Sony may continue to support the A Mount with new camera bodies. They have just introduced a replacement A77 but an A58 replacement may not be forthcoming.
Lenses are not a problem with Sony Alpha mount as there's a good choice from Sony, Sigma, Tamron and smaller makers, and all of the old AF Minolta lenses dating from the late 1980's will fit.
Trade figures show that one in ten digital cameras may have a fault in the first two years. Therefore choose a brand which has good technical back-up in your home city or region.

If you are really worried about continuing support then get a Canon or Nikon, but the market can change and they too may focus on smaller system cameras.

I say a camera body is a 'consumable' and the lens is an 'investment'.

They're as well made as Nikon / Canon. But Canon / Nikon cover about 80 % of the D-SLR market. Don't forget Pentax as well.
The best thing to do is hold a camera in your hands first. Choose the one that feels right to YOU.
