Are nikon brand cameras worth the buck?

So I'm looking into buying a new camera for some digital photography
And I was wondering if nikon really is the best brand for your dollar?

Nikon and Canon are the best.

Nikon is the best for photography. It takes the best quality pictures, and is really up to date with it's technology, so you can always get new lenses to diversify your photography. It definitely costs more, but they are always worth it.

Nikon dSLRs are great. Their point-and-shoot cameras aren't.

Lol hasselblad is best. For point and shoot id say canon g7

Not really.
Prefer my Canon 50D DSLR made in Japan.
The Canon EOS AF= Auto-focus 35mm film lenses were engineered to work on the modern digital camera bodies. This made the transition to digital easy and inexpensive.
