Anyone else jonesing for the D600?
Nikon is about to release the D600 full-frame dSLR for about $2000. The specs and features are ridiculous and I'm confident it will be a significant home-run. Can't wait to get mine!
LOL
I haven't heard the term "Jonesing" in years.
It certainly is a well needed camera, an entry level full frame dSLR
I'm sure they will be flying off the shelves once they become available
I'm still waiting for the replacement for my D300
I used to lust after the D700 with full-frame envy, so this caught my eye. I think I'd be better off waiting for the D300 replacement, too. (see fhotoace - although I know he has a D3 also) Besides the body, I would need to replace my 17-55 DX lens with a 24-70 and I'd need a few good SD cards, so it would cost me more like $4, 000 to get in the door. And, I appreciate the 1.5X crop factor now. I could stand a few more pixels (like 18 instead of 12) and maybe clean performance up to ISO 3200-6400 and I'm sure we will get this in the D400 or whatever it's called.
The D600 did give me pause, though. I just have to keep reminding myself that what _I_ need in a camera is not necessarily always the "latest and greatest" thing out there.
Heard about it a few days back. Great specs and great excitement, if only it was priced at around $1500…
For another 1000 bucks one can be a proud owner of D800 (body only)… But lets keep that for another day!
Well it's not as cheap as everyone was expecting it to be. A D700 or a Canon 5D Mark II are also full frame and already available for that price (sure they're older cameras, but they still perform very well).
I like the features and everything. It certainly is a great camera. I think I might get one at some point, but I'll let others buy it first and test it out, read some reviews etc. I don't like being one of the first to get one.
Haha! Never could keep up with the Jones. If ever, I'd jump from crop sensor to medium format right away. That would mean the Jones would be keeping up with me then.
- Is anyone else in love with the new nikon D4 and D800?
- Anyone else embarrassed to take pictures/tips?
- Does anyone else use household items for lighting? Examples would be great
