Any way of getting a new lens if you never registered nikon with your old lens?

I don't know about registering lenses or cameras with nikon and i don't think I ever did…

So I broke my 18-55mm lens kit and don't believe that i ever registered it with nikon. If I register it now what will happen?

If you broke it, then it will not matter either way. Manufacturer warranties are only good if the lens does not work due to manufacturing defects, not accidental damage by you.

Time to buy a new lens.

Registering your camera and lens with Nikon does not give you any extra rights and does not cover repairs to a lens that has been broken. I'm sure Nikon would help you if you had a lens that had become defective during the warranty period, maybe by referring you back to the retailer. If you accidentally broke the lens, you may be able to claim from your household insurance if the camera is covered for accidental damage. Otherwise, it looks as though you will have to pay to have the lens repaired or replaced. Hope you get it sorted out.

The manufacturer's warranty does not depend on registering the product, at least in the US If you have proof of purchase, which usually means the sales receipt or invoice you received when you bought the product, then you have a valid warranty. Your credit card statement usually won't work. Registration really doesn't do anything except provide marketing data to the manufacturer and get you on their mailing list. Registering it now makes no difference.

But you say you "broke" the lens. If it broke because of abuse, sand or water, Nikon's warranty will not cover the repair and nothing else matters. If it failed because of a defect in materials or labor, you will be able to get repair or replacement.

As long as the damage took place within the warranty time (time you bought the lens) you can send it in to see if it will be covered under warranty.
They will most likely as for the receipt or at least a copy of the receipt.
Cal or email Nikon, I'm sure a rep. Will be able to give you a more detailed answer.
