Any Nikon Wide Angle Lens recommendations?

I have a Nikon D 3000 with the 18-55 lens and the 15-200…

I'm looking to get a wide angle lens, preferably w/ zoom…

Any suggestions?

Lots of choices, most will cost you if you end up with good quality. 10-24mm 3.5/4.5f is a good nikon lens. Have you just thought about shooting a few frames and stitching them together? That is how I do it.

There are a few between the 8 to 20mm zoom range from Nikon, Sigma, Tokina and Tamron. Make sure it has an auto-focus motor in the lens or you will be stuck on manual focus with your motor-less D3000.

The Nikkor 10-24mm is probably the best, since it is a DX lens with a focus motor. Not cheap though, but no wide zooms are.

I would get this over any aftermarket ones, since most of them are lower quality and can't focus on the D3000. Another choice is the 12-24mm Nikkor.

Just make sure you need it though. Keep your 18-55 at 18 and see how your pictures turn out.

The only Nikkor that will autofocus on your D3000 is the 10-24

It isn't cheap, but a quality ultrawide never will be. I have no experience with third party lenses (Sigma, Tamron, etc.) but the reviews on Amazon.com, Adorama.com and Bhphotovideo.com are a great resource and good place to start.

Hope this helps!
