Which bridge camera?

I'm looking to purchase a new bridge camera. Currently I have a nikon l320. Bottom line I can't stand the camera. It takes forever to take the picture the quality is horrible, etc… I was looking at the panasonic lumix fz70. I like the wide zoom and quality. The only question I have is, I would use this camera a lot for school events and need something capable of a fast shutter Speed. Is this a good camera? If not so what are other options for no more than 300$ thanks all

Fast shutter speed depends on available lighting being sufficient, and bridge cameras are often too 'dark' at the telephoto end for indoor events.

I think the best one of the last couple of years is the Fuji HS50 EXR. Its sensor is slightly larger than competitors too.
It's just been discontinued so the price is good.

"It takes forever" and "horrible" only mean one thing. You don't know how to use a camera. Even if handed down a $43,000 MF-dSLR for free, you still will get pathetic pictures.

Learn photography or at least discipline yourself into taking pictures only when light is better than good. When you consistently get at least decent shots with your Coolpix, only then will you be ready with a more complex camera. Picture quality, in case you still don't get it, depends on you. The camera is only a tool.

Many pro people have used this camera and agree that the quality is horrible and it is indeed a slow camera so stop wasting your time complaining about me not knowing how to use a camera and go away thanks
