What camera lens do I get?

I've bought an old Nikon N60 35mm Camera. Right now I only have the body and am looking for lenses. However, I don't know: do all new lenses work with it? I'm not a huge photography buff. It's an SLR camera. I'm also trying to keep the price down. Are there any specific lenses or will ANYTHING do? Please be specific as possible if certain lenses are required.

Take a look at this first;

The N60 (F60 in some markets) often came bundled with a 35-80mm AF Nikkor, and this isn't a bad place to start. A standard lens for this camera would be a 50mm, but the f1.8 version is expensive, so a used, budget zoom like a 35-70, 35-80, or 28-80 will allow you to explore photography without breaking the bank.

DON'T get one of the newer AF-S lenses, or anything designed for digital, they won't cover the full film area, but there are plenty of used lenses on the market that will do just fine. This one isn't ideal, but it WILL fit;

You have an old film camera. Don't buy digital lenses. If getting new, buy FX lenses.

You will need at least a 50mm. I believe your camera was sold with either a 35-70mm or a 28-85mm zoom lens so any of those will do for the time being. If your camera has AF, make sure the lens you get has AF too.
