Suggest me a nikon camera please?

Please suggest me a nikon digicam.price range-7500-8000. I want atleast 16MP and 8-10X zoom. And a good lens too: P

I would suggest you Nikon Coolpix S4100 which is under Rs.8000 & the plus point is that you can make full hd (1080p) videos & its touch screen too. Other specs.are:

Nikon Coolpix L810 is the best camera to buy.

If you want a compact camera, the Nikon P7700 is by far the best you can buy from Nikon. It also has a larger sensor - 40% larger than most compact cameras. Larger sensors mean higher performance. If you want something smaller, but almost as capable, then the Nikon P310, although it does not have the larger sensor, it does have a fast f/1.8 lens (OK, it is a variable aperture, but still it is f/1.8 at the short focal length).

The larger sensor and faster lens of these two cameras mean they have superior low-light performance than most compact cameras.

The P7700 or P310 are the only two Nikon compact cameras that are worthwhile to own.

Both of these cameras have advanced controls such as manual exposure controls that the "L" and "S" series Nikons do not have. The L and S series are not for serious photographers.

In the Nikon Coolpix line:

L series are entry level compact cameras.
S series are mid level compact cameras.
P series are their high end compact cameras.

Avoid the P510 or P520 though, it is a bridge camera and has a ridiculous fat lens that results in a compromise in optical quality. You can't get something for nothing, and the convenience of those high power zooms carries the penalty that they are optically deficient. But that is true with any bridge camera (L810, L120 and other manufacturer brand bridge cameras).
