Nikon 55-200mm vs 70-300mm?

I currently have the Nikon 55-200mm VR lens. Do you think it's worth the upgrade to the 70-300mm VR? I ll be using this for action/sports and wildlife photography.

Yes, it could be a good upgrade.

Action and wildlife photography is shot using 200 to 300 mm lenses. The good news is this. If you ever do upgrade to a full frame Nikon camera, the 70-300 mm lens will not automatically crop the cameras sensor.

Not much of an upgrade.

It's not an upgrade, it's simply a lens with different focal lengths.

If it has the length you need, then you can buy it.
