Since it's not compatible, what's the next best photo editing software? (I hate photoshop)

All my colleagues use Lightroom 5.

Support for new versions of LR will include the D750 soon. However, in the interim, you can use Adobe's free DNG converter. The latest DNG converter supports the D750. The DNG file can be brought in to LR.
