Hello… I'm going to buy a lens hood for my AF-S DX f/3.5-5.6G VR… I searched and i found out that the best lens hood is the HB-45 Lens Hood… ([link here][1])
However i also found a newest version, the HB-45 II lens hood… Is it compatible with my lens? Because i prefer flower shaped lenses…([link here][2])
Please help me!

Petal hoods are designed to prevent vignetting (dark corners) at the short end of a zoom while allowing the hood to be deep enough to actually shade the lens at the long end.

Wideangle to telephoto like this is VERY difficult to shade effectively, and the petal shape is the best compromise.

Any 52mm lens hood will fit. But none work 100% at al focal lengths…

If the end element of your lens rotates during focus or zoom then a petal lens hood is useless. You will be constantly realigning it. Except if it is a bayonet fit you can't re-align it! If the hood is misaligned then at the wider end it will intrude into the photo causing a shadow - known as vignetting.

Nikon know best - buy the one they recommend.
