Advice on Lens for people?

I have a nikon d5300 and i wanted to know which lens is good for like wedding, parties, engagement pictures & just for like shoots on people. I needs to be a nikkor af lens. Let me know! & thanks.

Doesn't matter. According to your history, you bought your d5300 a week or two ago and thus you are absolutely miles away from even considering shooting things like weddings. And if you have to ask which lenses to use for a wedding, that is further proof that you ain't ready to shoot one.
If you mean "shoot as a bystander" rather than "shoot as the main photographer and hope I don't end up in court", then the kit lens which came with the camera is fine.

At a recent wedding (as guest not photographer) I took all the shots with my APS-C body and a 15-85 f/3.5-4.6 and when the light was low I used a 50mm f/1.8.
The pro was using a full frame body with 50mm f/1.2, a 24-70 f/2.8 and a 70-200 f/2.8.
All those are Canon - but Nikon have equivalents.

If you have to ask this question then you are nowhere near ready to shoot "wedding, parties, engagement pictures".

For all those scenarios you mentioned, the 18-55mm kit lens is perfectly good enough.
- I just bought a Nikon 50mm f1.2 lens. I have heard/seen people say I will need an adapter for it, why and what adapter?
