24-70mm nikon vs tamron?

I'm planning to purchase a 24-70mm for my Nikon D600 and saw that there's a huge price difference between the nikkor and tamron. I'm not a huge fan of 3rd party manufacturers but I'm not a fanatic either. I was wondering if there's quality wise a difference between these two lenses like sharpness at different focal lengths, built quality, vignetting(even though i don't mind a little bit of vignetting), bokeh, etc. And what is this Nano coating? And does the tamron have it aswell? Thank in advance

I recommend always buying the name brand lens. Many 3rd party lenses are good but the ones made specifically for your camera are always better.

The Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 has shown that it can match the Nikon and Canon equivalents in terms of sharpness and resolution. It also offers vibration reduction (VR) and some moderate weather sealing for significantly less than the cost of the Nikon equivalent.

The Tamron will have an equivalent of the nano coating (this is just a name that different companies use), nano coating is what helps to prevent and control lens flare.

Currently, it's a smarter idea to buy the Tamron as opposed to Nikon/Canon's offerings. Unless you're part of the professional network for your camera brand then there's not much reason to buy the Nikon 24-70. I'm a member of the CPS (Canon Professional Services) and by buying Canon brand lenses it guarantees that I'm always covered by them if something breaks or needs to be repaired urgently, I wouldn't have that leisure with a Tamron lens.

Even though I usually recommend to buy own brand as often as you can, I'd recommend the Tamron here. Third party lenses are now taking the camera world by storm, this Tamron lens is one of them. The new Sigma 35mm F/1.4 has proven to perform significantly better than the Nikon/Canon offerings too.
