Is nikon d5200 in red better than black?

I want to buy a nikon d5200. They come in 3 colours. I like the red looks stylish but is black better, looks professional and has better resale value. Red looks stylish and unique. Need help

The red one's less likely to be stolen, except by lobotomised teenage girls.

Never bought a camera by color. My cameras were always black. To me red, green yellow, purple looks childish.

It will look like a kids toy for one thing. Besides, the color is only the skin on the camera, nothing else is different - exactly the same camera.

It's purely your own preference. You decide!

A camera is just a tool for a job. I never choose my drills, hammers or chisels based upon their colour.

But if there's a choice and you want red then go for it. It's what you do with it that matters, and having a camera which doesn't look "professional" can often be an advantage in places where professional-looking gear can cause problems (often the case in museums, cathedrals, exhibitions and at live performances).

Don't let resale values come into it; the d5200 is a budget level consumer grade model with nothing exceptional about it so resale values are fairly low anyway.

One other practical consideration is that the red finish is likely to be painted onto a black plastic base, so will rapidly show every little bump, scrape and knock.

Well, I think a possible advantage of black can be that photographing through a window its reflection may be less. The subdued color should attract less attention, although I don't know how much difference that makes.
It is possible that the red color might make subjects more likely to smile for the camera.
