I dropped my Nikon Lens?

Everything see, s to work fine. I don't see any physical damage since it was in a bag when I dropped it. But whenever I autofocus, I can hear the motor running now. It will run every time I'm holding the autofocus and will stop about a second later after I release the autofocus. Autofocus still runs fast as usual.

ANY uncontrolled gravity events will do some damage.

Sadly, you bent something in the lens so it is acting eratically.

All you can do is sent it into Nikon after calling them and getting a RMA number and be prepared to pay for the repair.

There are many complex systems within a camera lens, especially an auto-focus lens, more if the lens is a VR lens.

If your lens is the kit lens, the cost to repair it may be more than the cost of a new lens.

If this lens was a Nikkor 70-200 mm f/2.8 lens, then getting it repaired would make sense
