How well does Samsung camera take pictures?

Is this camera a good investment? Will it take good high quality photos? Does Samsung cameras take pictures as a good as Nikon or Canon cameras?

Samsung cameras tend to be unreliable - on form they WILL work, but nobody knows when they're on form.

There are other manufacturers besides Canon and Nikon (who make good DSLRs, but leave something to be desired in other categories). As long as you avoid Kodak, BenQ, Vivitar, GE and companies better known for their electronics (with the possible exceptions of Sony - who swallowed Minolta whole - Panasonic, and possibly Casio (cheap compacts. Just about any camera on the market is capable of producing decent images, leaving the difference up to the photographer.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Samsung.
I would buy a camera made by established manufacturers such as Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, Fuji.
