Will a Quantaray lens work/fit on a Nikon D3200?

A friend gave me a Quantaray 50-300mm lens and it works on a Minolta AF camera. I'm trying to save money here, and I'm just wondering; will it work on this camera?: http://www.walmart.com/...D/20920868

Quantaray is an 'after-market' brand. That means that the same lenses are made for many cameras, with only the minimal modifications needs to mount on specific cameras.

If the lens you are looking at was made to mount on a Minolta camera, then it won't mount on a Nikon.

No - if it worked on a Minolta, then that means it has a Minolta/Sony mount. Nikon lenses use Nikons F mount - it won't fit.

No, not by itself. The only way it would work would be if you used a Minolta to Nikon lens adaptor mount, and I don't know if such a thing even exists. Lens adaptors are made, I just don't know if that particular type is made. You can Google and see if you can find one. However, as it is a Quantaray lens, it likely would not be worth the cost or effort of using an adaptor. Also, using an adaptor, especially with a modern DSLR, will often times prevent many functions of the camera from working. Bottom line, sell the Quantaray lens and put the money towards the D3200 and proper NIkon lens if that is what you are wanting to buy.
