What lens can I use with Nikon f80 and Nikon d3200?

I'm looking for a lens that is compatible with both as my mum wants to get me a birthday preset, but I don't know if I can get one that will work with both? I'd like a 35mm or 24mm, most definitely a prime lens. Will the formatting be wrong even thoug the lens will technically fit the body? Is there a lens that could work on both? I don't mind having to use manual focus!

Any Nikon lens that says FX in its name will work on both. If you want autofocus on the D3200, then it also should say AF-S.

Be aware that the D3200 has a crop factor of 1.5 while the F80 does not. So a lens will give a wider angle of view on the F80 than it does on the D3200. A 35mm lens will work on the D3200 as a 35mm*1.5=52.5mm lens would do on the F80.

Be aware that any Nikon FX prime lenses with AF-S are hideously expensive, the 35mm/1.4 FX costs $1800 or so.
Going for an older one without AF-S seems to be a sensible choice if you are truly comfortable with manual focus on the D3200.

Here is what happens if you use the 35mm/1.8 DX AF-S on a full frame camera:

If you're ok with the black corners on the sample shot, you can save a lot of money this way and still get autofocus on tje D3200
