What is the Nikon d3200 good for?

I'm starting a youtube channel and need a camera. I was thinking of getting the Nikon d3200 because I found a really good bundle, but I want to make sure that I'm making the right choice. I will be doing makeup tutorials, fashion vidoes, cooking videos, etc… So I need a camera with good focus, but also one that works well outside. I also really like photography, as well as making short films, so I'm wondering if that would work well with this camera as well.
Any facts/ opinions would be greatly appreciated. (PS I'm a beginner but I would like a camera that I won't have to replace in a few years)

The Sony SLT A-58 is a better camera if you want to mix stills and video.

If you just want video, get a camcorder.

The Nikon D3200 is an excellent camera that can do all the things you list. Investing in yourself is also a good idea, enroll in a photography course. Here is an in depth review of the camera.

Why are you looking to buy essentially a "stills" camera for making videos?
Buy a proper Video Camera or Camcorder; they are made for the job.

Like any DSLR the D3200 will be excellent for still photography and OK for video.
A camcorder will be excellent for video and poor for stills photography.

If your most important, or sole, purpose is making videos, then buy a good camcorder. If you feel you must buy a stills camera for making videos then look at the Sony series. I'm a Nikon man in DSLR, but I always prefer to use a camcorder for video work.
