Okay so you are asking what you should do if you make a photo with the D3100 and the image does not appear on the LCD screen? What is clear? What are you talking about?

Yes that is what i'm saying it won't show up it is just black

See page 130 in your manual and check that Image Review is turn On. If you don't have your manual, download it from Nikon's web site.

Edit: are you talking about after you snap the picture, you don't see the image on the LCD screen (Image Review setting controls this), or are you talking about trying to compose the image on the LCD screen before you take the shot? If you're trying to compose the image on the LCD screen, look in the the Live View mode in your manual (page 37). Most people use the viewfinder (see page 25) as it is superior to Live View.
