First of all there are NO tricks.

There are techniques and those you learn by taking classes or learning how to balance ISO, shutter speeds and lens apertures to get nearly perfect exposures.

Next you need to learn how to compose your images as well a how to use light to make compelling images.

NO tricks. Just a good understanding of the fundamentals of photography

First of all your camera offer something call "RAW" or "NEF", those are untouched file that need to go trough the digital dark room, AKA the software like camera RAW from Photoshop, Lightroom etc., with this you can now tweak the result as you wish.

If you use the JPEG quality then it's the camera software that will do it for you, if you want more saturation you go to your simple menu and click to increase the saturation, same thing with sharpening etc.

In the end your file will go trough a software whether you like or not, except with the RAW file we have more latitude in the shadow and the highlight when it come to post processing.
