Opinion on the Tokina 28-300mm lens for Nikon?

I have a Nikon d3200. Looking at getting a new lens, and this is one of the ones I'm looking at. Can you list pros and cons to this lens. (I have used a 18-200mm lens so I know about weight) thanks!

Pro: lots of zoom, less expensive

Con: 28mm isn't as wide so it may not get the landscape or group photo you want, any lens with this much zoom is going to have noticeable distortion.

A friend of mine is using the Nikkor 18-140mm and likes both the reach and sharpness.

Other than the fact that it won't autofocus on your camera, it can be a decent 1-lens travel solution. Not very wide at 28mm on your camera, slow aperture, but a decent lens for what it does.

You will find that an 18-200 is probably a better match, and you can get them in models that will autofocus on your camera. Nikon also makes an 18-300 now, but it is rather expensive for this class of lens.
