Without knowing the lens you have, there's now way we can answer your question.

* Your D3200 can only auto-focus using AF-S lenses. You must make sure that the lens is set to auto-focus
* If you have one of the older Nikkor AF lenses, you will have to use the electronic rangefinder in the cameras viewfinder to manually focus the lens.

Did you happen to look on page 14, 23, 35 and 36 in your user manual?

Page 37 tells you that the camera will need to use the auto-focus assist lamp when you are trying to shoot in low light.

Pages 38 to 40 discusses how to use the focus point selection.

Did you also look in the user manual (167) page to see which lenses can be used the auto-focus feature?

Do these things and you should be able to get your camera/lens to auto-focus

Without anything else to work with all I can recommend is to bring camera, lens, battery and charger to the service center and let them figure it out.

1. Is the lens set to AF?
2. Are you using a lens that does not have an internal AF motor? If so, your D3200 can't focus it because the D3200 does not have an internal AF motor.
