Nikon D3100 wireless flash support?
I have Nikon D3100 and I want to use flash wireless with an umbrella.
The flash that I found in my range was Nikon SB-600 but it can only be used on the top of the camera.
I'm not pro enough to use flash manually. Please suggest a solution that allows me to use TTL or CLS
The SB-600 can be used as a slave flash, using the on-board camera flash to trigger it.
I suggest you save the few extra pennies and by the SB-700 if you want to use the full CLS features.
Look into the Nikon SU800.It is a flash adapter that plugs into your hot-shoe and allows you to use your SB600 wirelessly. It is the CLS commander that your camera is missing.

Unfortunately, for the cost of the D3100 and SU800, you could'a probably bought the D7000.
But the SU800 has more flash control if you are thinking of buying additional speedlights in the future.
You can buy a 3rd party Chinese-made SU800 knock-off from a company called Debao for half the price. Whether or not it works as well is anyone's guess.
