My Nikon D3100 isn't recording?
I'm on a vacation right now and I'm doing a short film.
I've been recording all day!
But for some reason when I click the record button, it just stays on camera mode!
There's nothing wrong with the button!
I even cleared my SC card in case it was a memory issue.
And my camera is charged.
Any suggestions?
Added (1). I meant SD card, not SC. Haha sorry!
Is it over heated? Try later and see if it works.
The major drawback to using a dSLR to shoot video is the fact that the sensor gets hot and can shut down the camera long before a full 4 gb video file has been captured.
Ambient temperature, how long you use live view to compose your shots and how long your takes are contribute to the overheating of the sensor.
All you can do is wait for the sensor to cool off.
NOTE: When you say you "cleared" your SD card, what does that mean? After each time you copy your image files to your computer, you need to format the card, using the format feature on your camera. Deleting the files may lead to card corruption, usually at the most inopportune time
Sounds like you have overheated your camera.
Let it cool off before trying again.
