Looking to upgrade dslrs?

I currently have a nikon d3200, and while I love it, I have gotten more into photography (mostly people in nature) and would like to upgrade to an intermediate dslr. While I'm biased towards nikon (I own multiple lenses, so that is one of the main reasons I would like to buy another nikon body), I'm open to other brands. I also own a pentax and olympus lenses, so I would be interested in buying a body from them.
Like I said, I mostly like to do nature and people in nature, so I'm looking for something with a large sensor. It doesn't have to have all the new high tech features.
I'm just looking for suggestions of brands or specific bodies, really just someone to nudge me in a certain direction- so what do you suggest?

With the introduction of the Nikon D7100, you can pre-order one and be the first on your block, or maybe you can hold off a bit and let the price on the excellent D7000 come down.

The 24MP on the D7100 would be nice…

Unless you go up to full frame any of the intermediate Nikon bodies are going to have the same sized sensor.

What are you looking for in a new body that your current D3200 doesn't do?

You may be off investing in better glass/off camera lighting to benefit shooting unless there's a specific feature you are looking for that you don't currently have. Some fast primes, or a couple of speedlights & triggers for example.

Agree with Picture Taker though, the specs on the new D7100 look impressive!

You have to ask yourself:

- in what way is your current camera limiting you.
- is your camera deficient in a way that is preventing you form improving as a photogrpaher or creating the types of images you are trying to create.
- what will a new camera bring to the table when compared to your curret camera
- what else could you purchase with that money to help your photography
- …

The odds are, that after careful examination, you'll discover that the minor gains you'll make from going from the the D3200 to let's say a D7100 aren't worth the money you'll spend. You'll get far better "bang for buck" by purchasing better lenses or lighting gear.
