Is the Nikon D3100 good for sound on video because I heard it wasn't the best?

I like this camera (the link to the camera is down below) but I would use the camera all the time for videos and I need it to have good sound because I make YouTube videos, I'm also really into photography so it has to be great for both, I know its good for photo's but I heard its not the best with the sound. So if its not good for sound please leave a camera that takes good photos like this one but with great sound. Thank you.

I have that camera and i like it but i use a external rode mic because i didn't like the built in mic sound

You can't get movie quality sound. But the sound itself is OK.
Here's a part of a review.
"No external mic input. The D3100 is sufficient for getting a clip when you want it, you're not going to have movie quality sound. Who carries an external mic with them on vacation? If you're buying a DSLR specifically for video capabilities, you probably should be considering a dedicated camcorder anyway. For my purposes, there's nothing wrong with mono sound."

It's no worse than any other camera with a built-in microphone.
However, cameras having an external microphone can produce better audio by using an external microphone. Unfortunately, the D3200 lacks this capability.

The dSLR is an image capturing device. Do not expect much from it in terms of video and sound. See the built-in mic location. It's just a pinhole. Temper your expectations. If you want better, get a digital video camera with mic input.
