Nikon D3100 annoying focus sound during video?

I want to buy a Nikon D3100 but i've been watching test videos on youtube and while recording video there's this really annoying sound from the lens during focus! Comments say it's just because it's on autofocus… How can you change this?
Most importantly: if using manual focus will the sound still be there?

The sound is mostly audible when you have manual focus on, but half-press the shutter release to force auto-focus. If you focus fully by hand, there's no sound.

My advice is not to bother with the autofocus.

Stick a wide lens on and go manual. Videos will be great.
