I keep looking on the Internet and I found nothing so far. How can I switch from monitor to the look through viewfinder on a Nikon D3200?

Press the "LV" button on the back of the camera. The default setting on a digital SLR is to look through the viewfinder.

On the rare occasions I do need to use the LCD monitor to compose my shots (when the camera is attached to a telescope or microscope or when shooting industrial welding with intense UV light), I t then use the "live view setting on the camera.

There's another time when you will be using the LCD and that is when you are shooting video (which I have never done so do not have that experience). Go to Nikon's website and download the user manual for that particular model. Locate the instructions in the manual and follow them. You simply flip the Live View lever to switch between the viewfinder and the LCD screen. It's all in your manual -- no need to search the Internet. Link to the manual:

Pressing LiveView turns that on and off. Default is off. Page 41. Press the LiveView button.

Why look in the internet if everything you need is in the manual? Download the manual from the internet if you don't have a copy.
