Yes you can. Here is a listing of currently available Nikon lenses, all suitable for your camera:

That depends on the lens mount.

Generally yes. Doing so will in fact use more of the center of the lens which technically and loosely speaking here is usually more sharp than the edges.

Nikon mount? Yes. It's the other way around that's posing some problems.

As long as the lens is a Nikon lens, or designed to work with a Nikon, then yes it will work.

There are a couple of exceptions, but these are limited to a couple of rare lenses Nikon made many years ago. If in doubt, look in the Nikon D7000 manual (you can download it from www.nikonusa.com if you don't have one), and the manual will tell you which lenses are compatible.

Yes you can use Full Frame (FX) lenses on DX format cameras.

Due to the crop factor, Nikon DX format sensor being 1.5X smaller than the FX sensor, you will only be using the center portion (usually the sharpest portion) of the lens. But you should not use DX lenses on FX format cameras because you will only be using the center part of the FX sensor which will cut your MP output from, for example on a 12mp camera like the D700 or D3, to only 5MP.

Short answer to your question is yes, you can use a FX lens on a DX camera.
