Cameras/photography?

I don't consider myself a photographer but it is one of my favorite hobbies and i'm experienced with different cameras. What I want to know is, what do people find so good about canon rebels, i've never seen one in person or used one so I woykdnt know what's so special about this specific camera. Imfo would be greatly appreciated. I'm also thinking about a nikon dslr d3200, which one is more worth buying?

I'm a Canon owner and I find I get excellent results with both stills and video. I trust and will keep buying Canon because I know this company's attention to quality and detail.

I wouldn't bother with either because my PERSONAL PREFERENCE doesn't run that way. I also wouldn't care for the opinion of someone who can't spell, 'Canon.'

Work out a budget, talk to a dealer and handle a couple of candidates within your price-range (you may be pleasantly surprised by Pentax or Sony) and buy the one which feels right to you.

First, ignore someone who says: "I have cannon 5D. Pictures i clicked are amazing!" If they can't even spell the name of the camera (Canon) they (supposedly) have and use the term "clicked" its likely they are a poser.

Canon and Nikon are popular because of their marketing and advertising.

Take a serious look at the Pentax K-30. This is a Weather Resistant (WR) DSLR that you can safely use in conditions that will damage or even destroy a comparably-priced Nikon or Canon DSLR. Its raining? The K-30 doesn't care. Go ahead and use it in the rain. You're going to take pictures of race cars on a very dusty dirt race track? Go ahead. The K-30 won't be bothered.

The K-30 has a focusing motor in the camera body. Any AF "K" mount lens ever made will auto focus on it. The Nikon D3200 requires the more expensive AF-S lenses if you want auto focus since it doesn't have a focusing motor. Canon has always had the focusing motor in their lenses.

The K-30 has Pentax's version of Image Stabilization (IS) in the camera body. Any lens used, even an ancient M42 screw-mount with an M42 to K adapter, becomes a stabilized lens. Nikon and Canon have their respective versions of IS (Nikon calls it VR) in some but not all of their lenses. So with Nikon and Canon you pay over and over for a stabilized lens.

The K-30 uses the more expensive and difficult to manufacture pentaprism which gives near 100% coverage and is brighter - which is useful in low-light or when manually focusing a lens. Comparably priced Canon and Nikon DSLRs use the cheaper and dimmer pentamirror.
