Best way to insure my camera in Morocco?

I'm travelling to Morocco for a week. I want my camera (Nikon D3100, worth about £300) to be insured while I'm there. I'm looking for insurance from theft particularly.

Either your travel insurance or home insurance should cover. Check you policy. There's likely to be a hefty excess.

Agree:
check your travel insurance, and take photos of the camera and of your receipt from when you bought it.keep them separate, or leave them at home.
But the best advice is to make sure you don't "show off" your camera, I mean, keep it discreet, don't brandish it up over your head, or in front of people who are very, very poor, in a crowd, for example. It is often better to forgo nice photos than to be set upon for your camera.
Best wishes!

You can buy travel insurance and delete the excess e.g. Http://www.redwoodtravelinsurance.com offers this benefit and it will only cost a couple of quid extra over a policy with the excess BUT the policy will be indemnity - so there's a reduction for wear and tear. If you already have cover then the underwriters may offer the option to amend it. (Check the single article limit) - most online travel insurance policies aren't worth the paper they aren't written on when it comes to contents due to the high excesses and low single article limits.

You can insure the camera on your home insurance by extending personal possessions cover (AKA all risks) - however the excess you have on the home insurance will probably be substantial - especially if you bought online - most online house insurance policies aren't worth the paper (etc)… The cover will, however, be new for old.

Whichever option you take - read the policy wording carefully to check under what circumstances you will be covered. (Hope you have receipts - to prove your loss)
