50mm prime lens for my D40?

I wanna buy a 50mm prime lens for my D40. Heard that some do not auto focus with D40. What are the lenses that auto focus with D40.

Yes, they are okay. As long as you see "AF-S" in the long list of letters and numbers on the lens, it will autofocus on your D40.

Only Nikon AF-S lenses will auto focus on your D40 so either of the AF-S 50mm prime lenses you reference will be fine.

Both lenses are okay. D40's need "AF-S" lenses.
