Nikon SLR Cameras

For a long time Nikon and Canon user have been at war with one another, why?

I use a Canon, the other day i was on a photo walk, it was very interesting to see, all the Nikon users stuck together as one as well as Canon users, and there were disagreements on what camera is better than the other, why is this such a big deal, if you ask me i don't care what you use as long as you know how to use it!

I'm a Canon owner like you are. Well if you ask me, and you kind of have, it's like Dodge, Chevy and Ford owners - it's all about brand loyalty. I'm a loyal Canon owner because I know this companies attention to quality and detail and so I trust them… Frankly I don't trust Nikon. That's probably wrong of me because I know Nikon owners and they're very happy with their gear.

Brand loyalty is about all I can think of. Interesting question though.

I'm glad they are at "war" as that makes them produce more features and grow. Which translate to better products for the end user.
I'm a Canon 5D Mark III user but I have a crush on Nikons.

"at war"? Not really.

I bet you one thing - as soon as any Canon owner buys a Nikon (or vice versa) that person will become the most vociferous proponent ever of their new brand.

It's easier for Canonists to talk Canon and Nikonists to talk Nikon. However real photographers don't actially care about gear.

By all accounts both Canonists and Nikonists can shove off, I want to talk pictures.
