Will a Vivitar 75-300 lens fit on a Nikon D5000?

The seller says that it will fit "All Nikon bayonet bodies"… What do they mean by bayonet body and will it fit on my Nikon DSLR D5000?

They mean the SLRs and not the rangefinders or "point and shoots".It should fit your camera but you might lose some of the automation. I don't know how old your lens is or if it is auto-focus. You should consult Nikon's website for possible compatibility issues.

Since your D5000 doesn't have an auto-focus motor in the body, then the lens may have to be focussed manually.
