What pictures should i take with a 50mm lense?
I have a 1.8 50mm lense for my Nikon D5100. I know how to use it but i don't know what to take a picture of. Any advice or ideas of what i could take a picture of? Name anything.
That's your standard size, neither telephoto nor wide angle. It's good for portraits and landscapes, among other things.
It is generally considered a medium telephoto lens on your D5100.
I get the feeling that many people get on the "nifty fifty" due to the popularity of the discussions that surround them and their relatively low cost for a fast, primary lens.
If you still have your 18-55 mm lens, tape it to 50 mm and walk around for a week, just shooting with the lens set to 50 mm. You will soon get the idea if the 50 mm f/1.8 lens is for you
On your camera, the 50mm is a short telephoto which is good for closeups (no macro) and portraits in general. It's not limited to that however and you can use it to take anything you want to. There's no hard set law about it.
Pretty much anything. It's a good portrait/low light lens because of its wide aperture, but you can take street shots, landscapes, close wildlife, anything with it.
You are limited only by your imagination.
