Nikon d60 what size sd card?

Hi, I currently own a Nikon D60 and I'm planning to head to Europe in about a few weeks from now. The main question I have is what size SD card will my Nikon D60 be compatible to? I'm new in taking photos and etc and I own a 2gig SD card… To be realistic… I don't think that 2gig card would be enough… Especially for my travel to Europe.
I've been seeing mixed reviews on the Nikon D60 where some people say it can support an SDHC 32 gig card while others say it can only support either a 4 gig or an 8 gig card…
Could anyone tell me what's fact and what's fiction?

also… Just to specify… I'm planning to purchase a Sandisk card… I just don't know what my camera can and can't support

The D60 uses both SD and SDHC cards

This means that you can take a hand full of 4 gb memory cards with you.

The reason you should not use larger cards is because SD/SDHC cards do fail and it is better to spread your images out over four to six cards instead of just one.

I always travel with my notebook computer to I can keep up with my email. Having it along allows me to copy all my images from the days shooting to the computer as backup.

Personally I prefer 8gb / class 10. They're not that expensive and a trip like yours I'd take a hand full, perhaps 8 or 10. If you're planning say an 8 day trip that will give you one card per day plus a couple of spares.

SD is only up to 4GB but to be sure it will be compatible to your camera, buy only up to 2GB. If the manual says it can handle SDHC then any capacity will do. My advice is to get lots of small ones so if one card fails, you still have others.

Every once in a while you should back up photos to other media. A thumb drive can be one of your backups. Sometimes copy to DVD-R and mail those home.
Although you will see a lot of photogenic stuff that you don't want to miss, ask yourself how many thousands of photos anyone would be willing to look at.
