Nikon call them AF-S.

Nikon AF lenses will not autofocus. Sometimes called AF-D.

Nikon AF-S lenses, those that have a "G" suffix will autofocus on your camera.

Tokina lenses without the DXII suffix will not autofocus (i.e. AF or DX lenses will not).

Sigma and Tamron, you'll have to see which ones have an internal focus motor and which ones do not. You need lenses with an internal focus motor.

Here is a link to all the Nikkor lenses.

Look for the AF-S lenses

I have more advanced Nikon cameras with built-in auto-focus motors, but the AF-S lenses are the fastest auto-focus lenses made, so all of the lenses I use when shooting sports are AF-S
