I want to buy the Nikon J2 camera however I already have the D90 and wondered if it was worth buying.

Image quality will not be as good.

I have a D90 and just bought a V1 - for $299 I could not pass it up. But I certainly would not buy one for $500 or $600.

Even with a smaller sensor, it matches favorably to 4/3rds cameras, but it can't touch APS sized sensor cameras.

Worth buying? I'm sure it a a very good camera but I wouldn't buy it. Whether it is worth it for you depends on how much money you have available to throw around on new toys.

What can it do that the D90 can't?

You have a classic dSLR that is more than enough for all your shooting needs for the rest of your life.

D 90 is good enough as you have that then there's no hope for buying Nikon J2 coz your camera have all the technical specification and professional quality which Nikon J2 wud have.

It's only worth buying if you can get it for $5. No viewfinder, no hot shoe for a flash. That makes it a point & shoot with a changeable lens. It has a tiny flash good for about 5 feet.
Although the D90 is a little dated, it's still a great camera. Just see what it's still selling for. It's worth more
used, than the J2 is new!
I'd spend that money on another body, or a nice lens for that D90.
