How to take a video on a Nikon D5100?
I feel like this is a stupid obvious question but i can't figure out how to take a video on this camera. There's no button or mode and I'm very confused on how to take a video. Because i see the camera option on the screen when its in Lv mode (or whatever) but how do i do this? Lol thank you!
Before someone else (more sarcastic than me) comments why you'd own a $600 camera without even reading the owner's manual, I'll post the link and give you the page number (p.51): http://www.nikonusa.com/...100_EN.pdf
You were in the right "neighborhood" when you talked about "LV mode" (Live View), which is what the Nikon DSLRs use for shooting video. The "movie record" button is different than the regular shutter button: just to the lower left (as you hold & aim the camera) of the regular shutter. See page 2 of the manual ("Getting to Know the Camera") for a diagram with all the controls & their locations. See item #4 for the "Movie Record" button location. It's also shown on the page 51 instructions.
hope this helps,
