Does the t4i have selective color effect mode?

The Nikon D5100 has this mode, and I was wondering if the t4i has it also.
(Selective color effect mode is where you have one color appear, for example red, and anything else that is not red is gray)

I'm surprised that one would even want P&S type features on a fully adjustable camera.

dSLR cameras are fully capable of shooting any subject under any conditions with the photographer in full control of the results.

"Colour effect" modes are something done in post production (if such a thing is wanted) using a program like Photoshop. The key is to get the best possible image quality using a dSLR (shooting in RAW produces the highest detail). After that, anything can be done. If you use such tricky and cliché photos in the camera, there's no way to undo them, if you later decide you want a good RGB print made of that image

I get a sneaky suspicion that you are thinking of jumping from a Nikon system to Canon.

This link shows that the new Canon 650D actually under-performs when compared to the older 600D and that the new Nikon D3200 has made some substantial improvements in sensor performance

What a cheesy effect for a dslr camera. No doubt Nikon is trying to appeal to those who use pocket toys.

Like David, I'm surprised anyone who's serious about photography would even consider such a thing.

You can find it out at http://bhphotovideo.com/...ovideo.com. The Pentax K-x has it too. Annoying!

No, it does not have it. I hope this won't be the deal breaker for you because it can still easily be done in post. The T4i is a much better camera in my opinion, and I really hope that this sometimes corny effect isn't that make or break point.
