Computer says no new pictures found on this device when there are pictures on there?

I recently bought a new CF card for my nikon d70 and i took some pictures and when i put it in the computer it said, no new pictures or videos found on this device even though there are pictures on there

Are you trying to read it from the File Manager, or from some image displaying program? If it is the later, the program may be looking in the wrong subfolder. The File Manager might be easier to use to comb through to find the right one.

I would use an external usb card reader. Your computer will see a reader as a hard drive so all you do is
copy / paste to the folder of your choice.

Did you format the CF card before shooting?

Try another computer using a card reader and use Windows Explorer or (Mac) Finder instead of the Nikon software.
