Digital camera at T in the Park?

I'm a bit of a photo fanatic and really keen to take some decent photos at T, I have my iphone but it is currently full to the brim of photos. There's no memory left at all! I could take them all off but that would take an age. I could take old film cameras - which would be great but they don't take many photos and are expensive to buy and develop! I have a Nikon V1. My camera is like my baby! I'm only going days. A lot has been on the internet about stuff getting stolen being the biggest reason not to take it - I may not be the sharpest but I think I'd notice if someone tried to steal the thing hanging around my neck for the entire day… Is there any other chance of it getting damaged? Does anyone take their digital cameras and have experience? Reckon it'd be a good or bad plan?

At what "T"?

Most public places it is safe to wear a camera around your neck. I wouldn't wander off into some dark place by myself, but staying with the crowd, you should be OK. Take you camera and have fun.

It's hard to advise… Some people are the sensible type… And some aren't…

How can I 'estimate' how sensible you are… Just with a question on here?

If you are in good company and your friends look out for you then you should be OK… If you and your mates tend to caught up in the atmosphere of the occasion then leave the camera at home… You will lose it.

Just for the benefit of overseas contributors… T is a music festival in Scotland… If that helps.

You'll just have to save all the photos to your computer.
Really, it's madness to keep photos stored on your phone and you should transfer them regularly.
What if you lost the phone or the SD card became corrupted? You would lose everything.
