How to set my Nikon 5100 for park pictures?
I bought a Nikon 5100 online. It's my very first Nikon! Me & boyfriend are planning on going to Scottsdale Civic Center to take pictures. It has a really big red L-O-V-E statue. I want to take soft or the best way to take pictures. We're planning on going in the morning so does anybody know what will be the best settings to take these photos? Please & thank you <3
Put it on the P mode, … That stands for Park.
Well, not actually, … It stands for Program, but at your current skill level, putting it there will be the best thing you can do for now.
READ AND STUDY your owner's manual.
Do you know much about photography, composition, depth of field, etc., or at the least the basic triangle (ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture)? If not, I'd suggest putting the camera in AUTO mode and shooting away. If you have a friend who knows how to use a DSLR, then I'd highly recommend that you ask them to come along to take the pictures of the both of you.
I say this because there's no recommended setting for park pictures. It all depends on the vision of the photographer and the environmental conditions of the location.
