Canon Nikon or Fuji film cameras?

Which brand do you prefer please give examples of past experiences or specific models I'm lookin for a compact camera that has very good image quality the clerk here acts like he doesn't know a thing any help would be aessome

Go for the Canonet QL17 rangefinder for your first use. Rangefinders are easier to use than SLR.

You might want to look at Minolta (same mount as Sony DSLRs - Minolta lenses have full functionality on any Sony Alpha and visa versa, excluding DT cropped sensor lenses). Same story with Pentax - any Pentax lens fits any Pentax camera. Film is a great place to start, but I will guarantee you'll want/need to go digital and when you do, you'll want to be able to keep your lens investment. You can still get a brand new Minolta QTsi from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/...00004S5H6/
Canon and Nikon both have more compatibility issues with their lenses, Nikon much more so than Canon. Neither uses in-body image stabilization and Nikon leaves the focusing motor out of their cheaper bodies even though many of their lenses have no focusing motor and need it to autofocus.
