Can I use a Nikon DSLR lens on a Canon?

I want to buy a Canon DSLR and the seller says the lens is not working. I have 2 Nikon DSLR lenses. Will they work on the Canon camera?

This adapter allows use of Nikon "G" lenses on a Canon EOS body.

You can buy adapters to make them fit but it's not a satisfactory result.
Save up and buy Canon lenses and get full compatibility.

Yes, you can - sort of.

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 is a classic and some Canon users use these with an adapter. BUT, you should be aware, "things" like auto-focus or aperture control will not work at all. You'll be using it as a manual lens. Besides, modern Nikon lens do not have an aperture ring, so your adapter must have it. It'll be a pain to use, because you have to open it wide to focus, then close it to shoot. All manually.

Basically, it's not worth using Nikon lens with Canon or vise versa UNLESS there's a special need only certain lens can satisfy.

You'd be better buying a Nikon.

It is possible using adapter but it is good to go with the lens belonging to its appopriate comapny

Certainly not fully. Buy a Nikon camera body if you have Nikon lenses. Or sell the Nikon lenses and buy Canon lenses for the Canon body. Better still, if you are determined to change camera brands, sell the Nikon lenses, and put that money towards buying a Canon with a working lens - maybe even new? With the fairly limited knowledge that you have of DSLR systems it would be better not to try anything fancy, just go for mainstream.

A Nikon does it better

It is possible to put a Nikkor on a Canon EOS with an adapter. You will have no metering, autofocus, or electronic control. If you have G lenses (no mechanical aperture ring), you need to choose an adapter (which is extra expensive) that has an aperture control lever.
