Can i use the vintage canon lens to DSLR?
I have a vintage canon FTb camera and it's not working anymore.i'm planning to buy a new camera either nikon or canon but i've realized, is the lenses of my vintage camera canon is compatible with the new models of canon SLR? Cause i know lenses are so expensive in our country and the lenses i have is useless now.here's a view of my vintage camera.
Sadly, the answer is no.
That is one drawback to a Canon compared to a Nikon. With newer models of Nikon DSLR's, you are able to use older lenses. An example is the newer Nikon D7000. You are able to use lenses from the past 25-30 years and will work fine with the camera. Some of the lens, you would have to enter some info into the camera for it to work but once you do, they would work fine.
That is one of the advantages Nikon has. But both makes are great cameras and both have their own positive sides to them.
The camera you have is a canon fd mount camera and will not work without an a adapter on newer cameras. In your case you might of as well buy a new camera. While you can buy an adapter (I have a very similar camera) so you can use your lenses on a newer camera, adapters are hard to find and don't always work right.

I recommend either buying another canon fd camera used like the Ae-1/ Ftb /Tx or getting an all new camera like the rebel t3i and an adapter
