Sorry if I was not clear in my previous answer: I own a Nikon digital SLR, and it only takes CF cards.

A CF card s NOT the same as an SD card or an SDHC card.

If you want google CF card to see what it looks like, then compare it with an image of an SD card - you will see that they are different sizes, different thicknesses, and have different connections.

Depends on the camera. Older cameras used CF cards, newer cameras use SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards.

Look up the specs of the camera you are interested in to determine what kind of memory card it supports. The specs can be downloaded via the manual for cameras no longer produced.

I have a D300 and a D100. They only take CF cards.

You really want to check each camera, and back up your pictures.

Camera's can break or be stolen.

Even if all of them do today, they might not five years from now when you buy a new one.
